Someone to own your technology decisions, security and continuity planning, for the hours you need and not a full-time salary.
The mix depends on your business. These are the areas we usually work in. Much of our work is in Microsoft 365 and Azure, but the approach carries over to other platforms. Tell us what you use.
An inventory of your systems and accounts, diagrams of how data moves between them, and a short list of risks in priority order.
Multi-factor sign-in, role-based access, password management, and device management with Defender and Intune.
Retention policies, sensitivity labels, geographic access limits, and the ability to find and produce documents and communications from years back when legal needs them.
A written "break glass" plan so the business can get into its own systems if the person who runs them isn't available.
Review of licences, subscriptions and cloud spend against what the business earns, and help with vendor decisions.
Plain-language IT and AI-use policies, and the settings that turn what your lawyers want into something enforced.
One company had personal subscriptions standing in for business accounts, a key vendor account controlled by one person, and no system documentation since 1990. Over a few years it moved to a managed Microsoft 365 setup with MFA, device management and retention policies. The written continuity plan took about three months.
It isn't a help desk. If you need someone to reset passwords every day, a managed service provider is a better fit, and we're happy to work alongside one. It also isn't a full-time role. The point is to give you senior input for the hours you need.
Tell us what your technology situation looks like and we'll tell you whether this would help.
